“Growing up in Bronx, New York has taught me that I’m not planning on staying here. From a young age I learned simple doodling, which turned into simple drawings, which turned into full blown art pieces. I learned on my own what colors went with what, what colors pairings were more aesthetically pleasing to the eye and overall what made more sense. Ever since I was a child I knew I wanted to work in an artistic environment, doing something that would please and challenge me as an artist, as well as please my audience and any onlookers that decide my artwork is worth taking a gander at, that was going to be my ticket out of the Bronx, out of poverty.
I deeply believe that art is a catalyst that opens people’s mind to something greater, rather it’s painting or music or writing, somewhere in that person’s mind-something clicks; and if by merely looking a someone’s artwork or reading a script, or listening to a demo, can create some small electrical impulse and have that someone say “What if…” then that artist’s job is done. Jimi Hendricks did it and so did the Beatles, I can only hope that at my wise old age of 19 I can get some electricity crackling and some juices flowing.”
